Charlie hails from London, England, and is our resident British instructor. She moved to the US aged 19 (after backpacking up the east coast of America for 5 weeks in the hopes of gaining a spot on a Division 1 Roster). She landed herself a scholarship at the University of Virginia where she graduated with a B.A. in Music. After working in the music licensing industry for 4 years in NYC, she moved to Boston to work for Steinway & Sons Pianos and play professional lacrosse for the Boston Storm.
Charlie’s passion for exercise, music, and a new community brought her to The Handle Bar. Charlie aims to push her riders to their limits in class. She wants you to feel something – feel present, feel out of your comfort zone, and most of all feel accomplished. Charlie loves to bring fresh new beats (and lots of European ones too) into the studio. You’ll see her tapping it back to Skepta, Wiley and Lethal Bizzla on the regular!
What's one fun fact that no one would guess about you?
I write left handed, but do practically everything else (besides brush my teeth) right handed. I guess they call that ambidextrous?
What's your favorite season and why?
I love ALL the different seasons, but I would have to go with Autumn. The changing of the leaves, the autumn fashions, smells and foods. Hunkering down beside the fire with a cup of tea and a good book, or doing arts and crafts. Long walks on a chilly autumn day with my dog Monty, and an excitement in the air for Christmas time.
What is your favorite quote?
