Yes! The difficulty of the class is at your discretion. The resistance knob is located on your bike and only you can adjust it. If you're feeling too tired, lessen the resistance and keep pedaling. If you're feeling great, add on more. More resistance, more results.
We recommend that everyone purchase a pair of bike shoes if they plan to participate in cycling, both indoors and outdoors. Our bikes are not compatible with regular sneakers, so we offer shoe complimentary shoe rental. The cycling shoes clip into the pedals and create a more powerful stroke than regular sneakers. "Clipping in" is a great way to feel even more connected to the bike and to the class. Our bikes are compatible with SPD cleats.
Yes! We sell cold bottled water at the front desk.
Something you're not afraid to SWEAT in. We recommend spandex or tight-fitting pants/shorts for the best ride.
We don't have designated changing rooms, but we have two bathrooms that can be used for changing.
We don't have lockers, but we have cubbies for every rider. You won't be able to lock up your things; but a Handle Bar staff member will always be in the reception area so belongings are not left unattended.
We recommend that you make a reservation if you plan to attend a class. We do welcome walk-in riders, but warn you that classes often fill-up. You can make a reservation online up to 7 days in advance. We do not accept unpaid reservations over the phone or in person. You must have a valid class or class package on your account in order to reserve a bike.
Yes. You can cancel your reserved bike 12 hours prior to the start of class and it will be returned to your package. See our cancellation policy on the pricing page.
For new riders, we recommend arriving 20 minutes before the start of class to get set up with bike shoes and get acquainted with bike set-up. All riders must arrive at least FIVE MINUTES prior to the start of class, as we will begin giving bikes away to wait-listed riders. If you are running late - no problem - give us a call and we will hold your bike. We ask that no one begin class more than 10 minutes late.
We have a strict no-refund policy so please do not purchase classes or packages unless you are sure you will use them. We do offer account credit if you would like to return one package in exchange for another.
We do not allow riders under the age of 16. 16 and 17 year olds must obtain a parent signature on our liability waiver prior to taking their first class.
