Julie Moody is no stranger to The Handle Bar family. She joined the front desk staff in the fall of 2013, shortly after the Southie studio opened, and has been part of the fam ever since.
Julie hails from the South Shore of Massachusetts in Plymouth, which explains her love of the beach and all things summer – so much so that her motto is “Survive in winter, live in the summer.”
Known as the “Moody Sisters” growing up, she and her two older sisters are as thick as thieves and Julie says family is the most important thing, ever.
Sports and being active have always been a huge part of her life – Julie played collegiate soccer at Roger Williams University in Rhode Island. When Julie isn’t owning the podium by early morning and night, she works in event planning and office operations by day.
Don’t let her signature blonde ponytail and big smile fool you, Julie pumps beats by some of her favorites like Drake and Rihanna, and almost always will throw in an Ellie Goulding song.
What is something that most people don’t know about you?
I was a lettuce farmer in Hawaii (no, really). After college I wasn’t ready to join the real world yet and started looking for different opportunities. I found this family owned and operated farm in Kona and stayed for 2 months, returning home just in time for my niece’s first Christmas.
What is your favorite drink?
Sauvignon Blanc. I am a beer and wine girl – no hard stuff for me.
You’re on death row – what is your last meal?
Mac and cheese. Homemade mac and cheese.
