News & Updates

As we continue to pivot and adapt based on our current reality, we will share any and all relevant announcements pertaining to studio openings or closures, satellite locations, and the like. Check back here when you need to know new information on our most up-to-date whereabouts!

Updated 11/16/2020

On Saturday, November 21st, we will invite our community to the grand opening of HB BIG NIGHT LIVE, our newest satellite location located at North Station: 110 Causeway Street, Boston, MA 02114. Big Night Live is one of Boston’s premier live music venues that we’ll be taking over and turning into an epic CYCLE studio through the winter months. Stay tuned for more info!

As of Friday, October 30, 2020, we closed our brick-and-mortar locations to focus all of our energy and resources toward our virtual offerings and expansive offsite locations. As we all know, this year is about survival, and we have to behave safely, wisely and conservatively as we enter another challenging period of 2020. We are currently working on launching Big Night Live, our second exciting satellite location, which will open Saturday, November 21! In the meantime, you can still work out with us virtually or in person any day of the week!

Safety Measures

Hand Hygiene: Hand sanitizing stations will be readily accessible once inside the location. All staff and clientele are required to sanitize their hands upon arrival.

Temperature Checks: Staff will complete contactless temperature checks prior to each shift, and will issue temperature checks to all riders as they arrive at the check-in desk. Anyone with a temperature above 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit will not be allowed to physically return to the space until cleared by a medical provider.

Health Declaration Form: After hand sanitizing and temperature checks, riders are then required to sign The Handle Bar’s Health Declaration Form, a document that states they have not experienced any symptoms of COVID-19 nor have they knowingly been exposed to the virus. The form also acts as another method of contact tracing for our community. All riders are required to sign this form if they wish to ride at any of our locations.

Social Distancing: Anyone entering the space must keep six feet of distance between them and other guests. Markers and signage will be present at the offsite locations for guidance.

In the bike area, bike layouts have been adjusted to ensure 14 feet of distance between riders. Capacity will not exceed 8 bikes per 1000 square feet, in accordance with Massachusetts state guidelines.

Wear a Mask: Anyone entering a Handle Bar-operated location must wear a face covering & keep the face covering on at all times until seated on their bike. Wearing masks while riding will be left up to the discretion of the individual.

Cleaning Protocols

Medical Grade Supplies: Bike equipment & all surfaces in every communal space will be thoroughly and frequently sanitized by staff using a EPA-Registered disinfectant.

Equipment Cleaning: EPA-registered disinfectant wipes will be available for riders, and they will be invited (but not required) to wipe down their own equipment and bikes before and after use. Our team then administers a thorough disinfecting and cleaning of the equipment upon riders’ exit from the space.

Ventilation

Black Falcon: High ceilings and open terminal doors allow for a steady flow of fresh air and circulation throughout the terminal.

Big Night Live:

  • Big Night Live: A brand new, permitted, installed and balanced state-of-the-art HVAC system. More info: The systems are forced air type thru air handlers. Air handlers utilize base building hot water as well as cold water to produce the required temperature distribution. Fresh air is provided to the air handlers direct from the outdoors via fresh air fan. Exhaust is then discharged from the space via the restroom exhaust fans. Localized HLR units are provided to filter recirculated air of volatile organic compounds. Temperature is monitored from space temperate sensors and controlled from the local HVAC management system.

Rider Commitment

While we have instilled many new guidelines and regulations to uphold the safety of all, the best way to ensure we can move forward is for all of us to do our part to practice safe and healthy habits.

    • Wash your hands, and wash them often, for at least 20 seconds.
    • If you have a cough, fever, or symptoms of COVID-19, please do not come to a class until you are symptom free, fever free, and/or have received a negative COVID test result.
    • If you have tested positive for COVID-19, or have knowingly come into close contact with someone who has, we ask that you do not come to a class for 14 days or until you’ve tested negative for COVID-19.
    • If you feel ill or have any concerns about coming in to ride, please stay home and stay safe. If you need to cancel your reservation but have missed the early cancellation window, please contact us and we can assist you: info@handlebarcycling.com
We are continually monitoring the situation across the country and will continue to put your health and safety first.

In the event that there is a reported case of COVID-19 from our space and you were potentially in contact with the individual, you will be notified immediately by our team. From there, we will take the proper safety precautions to thoroughly disinfect our offsite space from top to bottom.

We will continue to adapt, evolve and respond as needed, always with the health and safety of our staff and community at the front of our mind.

We’re here for you however you choose to ride, in person or virtually. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach us: info@handlebarcycling.com.
