I'm new to spinning, what should I expect?

Lots of fun and TONS of sweat. The difficulty of the class is at your discretion. The resistance knob is located on your bike and only you can adjust it. If you’re feeling too tired, lessen the resistance and keep pedaling. If you’re feeling great, add on more. More resistance, more results.

For new riders, your first ride at The HB is $10, and your first unlimited month is $100. Riders may take advantage of both rates. Create your account to get started!

When should I arrive?

For new riders, we recommend arriving 20 minutes before the start of class to get set up with bike shoes and get acquainted with bike set-up. All riders must arrive at least FIVE MINUTES prior to the start of class, as we will begin giving bikes away to wait-listed riders. If you are running late – no problem – give us a call and we will hold your bike. We ask that no one begin class more than 10 minutes late.

Do I need bike shoes?

We recommend that everyone purchase a pair of bike shoes if they plan to participate in cycling, both indoors and outdoors. Our bikes are not compatible with regular sneakers, so we offer shoe complimentary shoe rental. The cycling shoes clip into the pedals and create a more powerful stroke than regular sneakers. “Clipping in” is a great way to feel even more connected to the bike and to the class. Our bikes are compatible with SPD cleats.

Do you sell water?

Yes! We sell cold bottled water at the front desk.

Do I need to make a reservation for class?

We recommend that you make a reservation if you plan to attend a class. We do welcome walk-in riders, but warn you that classes often fill-up. You can make a reservation online up to 7 days in advance. We do not accept unpaid reservations over the phone or in person. You must have a valid class or class package on your account in order to reserve a bike.

Can I cancel my reservation?

Yes. You can cancel your reserved bike 12 hours prior to the start of class and it will be returned to your package. For more on canceling, please read our cancellation policy.

What is your refund policy?

We have a strict no-refund policy so please do not purchase classes or packages unless you are sure you will use them. We do offer account credit if you would like to return one package in exchange for another.

Do you offer any student or teacher discounts?

Yes! The student and teacher credit is available on the purchase page of our website. The single class is listed as $26, but validated students and teachers will receive a $10 discount at checkout, bringing the student/teacher rate to $16 per class.

To become a validated student or teacher, you must visit one of our studios during class time and present your current school ID to our front desk staff. They will ‘tag’ your account, and moving forward you will be able to enjoy that $10 discount! This $16 Student/Teacher Credit expires after 24 hours, so use it fast! The credit has a 24-hour booking window. For example, if you purchase a class at 12:15pm on Tuesday, you can book any class occurring between 12:15pm Tuesday and 12:15pm Wednesday, the following day. You are able to book a class that occurs within 24 hours from the time you purchased it. Got questions? Email info@handlebarcycling.com.
