I have more questions. Who should I ask?

Please email info@handlebarcycling.com for any other questions regarding our studios, memberships, your account, etc. We’ll get back to you in approximately 48 hours. Thank you!

CYCLE

I'm new to spinning, what should I expect?

Lots of fun and TONS of sweat. The difficulty of the class is at your discretion. The resistance knob is located on your bike and only you can adjust it. If you’re feeling too tired, lessen the resistance and keep pedaling. If you’re feeling great, add on more. More resistance, more results.

Do I need to make a reservation for class?

We request that you make a reservation if you plan to attend a class. You can make a reservation online up to 7 days in advance. We do not accept unpaid reservations over the phone or in person. You must have a valid class or class package on your account in order to reserve a bike.

When should I arrive?

We open up our studios 30 minutes before class time. We suggest that you arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to class start time, especially if you are new to the HB! All riders must arrive FIVE MINUTES prior to the start of class, as we will begin giving bikes away to wait-listed riders around the 5-minute mark. If you are running late, no problem – give us a call and we will hold your bike. We ask that no one begin class more than 10 minutes late.

Do I need bike shoes?

We recommend that everyone purchase a pair of bike shoes if they plan to participate in cycling, both indoors and outdoors. Our bikes are not compatible with regular sneakers, so we offer complimentary shoe rental. The cycling shoes clip into the pedals and create a more powerful stroke than regular sneakers. “Clipping in” is a great way to feel even more connected to the bike and to the class. Our bikes are compatible with SPD cleats.

What is the age requirement to ride?

We do not allow riders under the age of 16. 16 and 17 year olds must obtain a parent signature on our liability waiver prior to taking their first class.

CYCLE & STRENGTH

What should I expect in a CYCLE & STRENGTH class?

25 minutes of heart-pounding beat-based cycling, and 25 minutes of free-weight strength training. Select floor or bike for your starting position, with a swap halfway through.

How do I purchase a class?

Our regular Single Class credits are valid for CYCLE & STRENGTH classes! C&S classes are also included in HB Memberships. You can purchase credits here.

What shoes do I wear?

Riders will need both sneakers and cycling shoes (or hybrid studio shoes work great).

How long is the class?

The class is scheduled for 60 minutes, which includes 50 minutes of work, a short transition, and a stretch.

What if I’m not comfortable with weight training?

Then this is the perfect class to build your confidence! You can certainly do the workout without weights. As you’re ready, we have a wide range of dumbbells, starting at 5 lbs. Start light and build your strength.

Should I do Floor or Bike first?

It’s up to you! Both offer an incredible, low impact, highly effective workout.
