INTUITIVE EATING 101

How do you know if Intuitive Eating is “working” if it’s different for everyone?

 

Your outcomes will be unique to you, but some indications may include:

  • Eating is no longer a source of stress or anxiety
  • Food no longer consumes your thoughts all day
  • You consistently eat meals that are nourishing and feel good for your body
  • You’re able to enjoy previously “forbidden foods” without feeling a loss of control
  • You no longer skip meals or skip events where food is served
  • You don’t use food to comfort negative emotions
  • You exercise consistently and you enjoy it
  • You have fewer food cravings
  • You have improved digestion
  • You have improved self-confidence
  • You can enjoy the moment with friends and family around foodIntuitive Eating is a process. It takes time, compassion, and celebrating wins along the way–no matter how big or small. It requires completely letting go of deeply instilled beliefs about body size, weight loss, food morality, etc. to prevent external control and expectations from interfering with Intuitive Eating.
